Bike Hire Betws Y Coed
Beics Betws was established as a mountain bike hire centre over 30 years ago. Located in the picturesque village of Betws Y Coed in the heart of the Gwydir Forest the area hosts the famous Marin Trail (now Gwydir Mawr trail) This waymarked red graded single track trail was one of the very first single track mountain bike trails in the UK. Together with the red graded Penmachno trail and the downhill Antur Stiniog trail centre the area has much to offer the experienced cross country/downhill mountain biker.
For those who prefer to explore the area by mountain bike in a more leisurely manner, the miles of forest track, bridleways and open moorland provide for some scenic, adventurous and often challenging rides, ideal for E bikes. We have several mapped out routes for which we can hire a GPS ‘sat nav’ (£5) or we can provide GPX files to our customers for use on their own GPS/Phones.
Our adult hardtail mountain bikes are located at our Betws shop and are available in 5 sizes. Starting from £25 for a half day. A limited number of full suspension bikes are available in medium and large sizes starting from £32 for half a day. Many of these bikes have dropper posts fitted.
E bikes are fast becoming the most popular and fun means of cycling in the countryside. Our E hardtail mountain bikes are available in 4 sizes and start from £40 for a half day. You must be 14 and over to legally ride E bikes in the Uk. E bike hire also requires a deposit to be paid in the form of a bank card preauthorized payment. This is refunded on return.
For the majority of year these bikes are available to book on line and collect from our shop. Drop in hire is possible subject to opening times and availability.
Our leisure bikes, gravel, touring, city, and children’s bikes and trailers are available by arrangement at our Betws Y Coed shop. These include E bikes. These will need to be booked in advance.
We can offer self guided tours or tours with a local Mountain Biking guide.
