Snowdonia Nordic Walking
operates from a working farm just outside Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia. With limitless beautiful walks on the doorstep, this is the perfect place to Start Your Nordic Walking Adventure in Wales! Groups are between 2 and 10 people which ensures a personal experience and ongoing support, tuition and attention from your instructor. The half day session takes in the sights of some of Snowdonia's most beautiful mountains and the guide provides local information, history, and insight with you throughout. The Taster evenings are based on the farm and set up to transform you from complete beginner to confident Nordic Walker!
If you want a tailor made experience there are many Guides and Adventure companies offering climbing , scrambling, gorge walking and sea traversing adventure activities . The National Outdoor Centre and National Water sport Centres, PLas Y Brenin and Plas Menai offer courses and experiences in sailing, windsurfing, power boating, traditional and indoor climbing, scrambling, navigation, kayaking, canoeing and mountain biking.
If adventure is not your thing the area has museums, galleries, theatres and historic sites and steam trains to enjoy. Take a trip on the Conwy Valley line to Llandudno where you can visit the Bronze Aghe copper mines on the Great Orme. Or travel by train to Blaenau Ffestiniog then take the the Ffestioniog railway to Porthmadoc then the Welsh Highland railway to Caernarfon.
